About

Convo55

Convo55 makes politics easier for young people to follow. We take questions from viewers, put them to politicians and community leaders on camera, and publish the answers.

Where we work

Convo55 works in Idaho. Every person we have interviewed so far holds an office in the state.

How it works

  1. Submit questions

Ask whatever you actually want answered, on the Q&A page.

  2. Which questions to ask

Our interviewers read the submissions and choose which questions to take into an interview, and who is the right person to answer each one. The rest stay in the queue for a later interview.

  3. Answers

Selected questions are put on camera to politicians and community leaders. Both kinds of sit-down work the same way: they are cut into clips and published on the page of the person who gave them.

  4. Follow along

Answers are published on the question page, directly under the question they answer.

What Convo55 is for

The questions are yours
Interviews are built from what viewers send in, so the agenda is set by the people asking rather than by us.
Named people, named offices
Everyone we interview is listed by name and by the office they hold. So far that is the Idaho Secretary of State, and a member of the Idaho House of Representatives.
Answers stay on the record
Written answers appear on the question page signed with the name and title of the person who gave them. Nothing is paraphrased into a summary.
Anyone can ask
Send a question with your name on it or send it anonymously. You do not need an account, and every submission lands in the same place.
